Where did the year go?

I am amazingly bad at updating this site, holy shit. This is what happens when people don’t kick me in the ass to get me going.

Anyway, several things:

  1. Yesterday I happened to go through my bookmarks and clicked on the one for my old-old gallery and found out, to my great surprise and joy, that it’s online again. Which means that I can visit the site, but can’t log into my account or use FTP. But at least I managed to download all the caps that I had uploaded there, which brings me to…
  2. Supernatural – I’ve uploaded the caps for episodes 1×01-09 & 1×13, as well as 4×01-08 at Mediafire.
Don’t ask me why the season one caps are larger than the others, or where episodes 10-12 are. No seriously, don’t ask, those caps are from 2006 and I have no damn clue. I found them on one of my disks a while ago, go figure.
Episodes 4×11-22 will be uploaded later, I still need to sort a few of those out. Again, don’t ask me what happened to 4×09 & 4×10.
Episodes 5×2-08 are also on my hard drive – no idea what happened to 5×01. I actually had those uploaded before… at MegaUpload. Yeah.
  3. Odds and ends: finally got around to sorting and uploading the caps of Primeval 4×07, as well as the unaired pilot of Sherlock.
I… may be screencapping Teen Wolf season 3. If I manage to get my hands on all the HQ videos I need.
  4. Regarding file hosts – ugh. As much as I used to love Mediafire, by now it annoys me to hell. On the one hand I’m not allowed to password protect my archives when I upload them, on the other hand they decided – in all their endless wisdom – to remove the password protect feature at the site itself. Which sucks. I’m tempted to switch to using MEGA, now that the upload there actually works.
  5. I had a little of a SNAFU a few days ago when I had to update my WordPress as well as some plugins. One very, very important plugin. (Every WordPress user probably knows which one.) Fortunately the only thing I lost was some time and patience, phew. What I got is the new layout Twenty Fourteen, which I will test out on my WP test blog to see if it’s worth adapting my site layout to it. Hell, why not, it’s been a while since I played around with webdesign.

And that’s it for now, I think.

ETA: Actually, I forgot something. Thanks to my friend Mercy I got my Final Fantasy – Advent Children screencaps back, which I will upload now and then add to the Movies download page again. Sadly, that doesn’t include the caps I made later on of the newly added scenes in Advent Children Complete.

Several Site Updates

Long time no see…

I have been neglecting this site for a whole year now, I’m very sorry about that. I promise to do better from now on, and to that end I decided to make some changes.

  1. I used to sort all my caps through, to throw out the blurry, dark, uninteresting and just bad ones. The main reason for that was that I uploaded them into my gallery as well, and I really didn’t want to waste space on unusable caps. The thing is, that sorting out took much more time than I had estimated – and it got boring oh so very fast. So from now on sorting will be quick and dirty, which leaves you with a lot more blurry caps than before.
  2. The second thing, which is connected to point one, is that I decided to get rid of the gallery. So the only way for you to get my caps from now in is to download the ZIP files. I’m sure you’ll manage.
  3. And since I don’t have the gallery anymore, this website suddenly needs a lot less space, which is why I moved it to another host. Right now I’m using their free hosting plan, but as of now I haven’t had any major problem with this host yet. Let’s hope it stays that way.

That said, all gallery links you might find on the site are obsolete now. As far as the download links go… I’m working on it. I had my ZIP files all uploaded at MegaUpload, and I think we all know what happened with that. Of course that’s not all. The very first incarnation of this site was hosted at 110mb.com, which on paper looked like a great idea. Then the owner changed, payment plans changed, and before you knew it there was the usual discrepancy between free users and those who paid for the space. (FYI, I paid for it too, back then, but that was at a time when you paid just once for different services and privileges and then never lost them. Or at least it was supposed to be like that.)

Anyway, I haven’t been able to actually access my website at 110mb.com for 2 years now – yes, two years. According to the support forum this is because they have been relocating their servers and installing new HDDs. Whatever.

This wouldn’t actually be a problem, but a few months ago I realized that a bunch of my screencaps had gone missing. That includes my Advent Children caps, as well as Monsters vs Aliens and several Leverage episodes. The Alice caps I only got back because one of my friends still had them. Nothing I can do about the movie caps, since those were never in the gallery, but the tv caps were. Only that I can’t get my fingers on them because my website at 110mb.com doesn’t work.

It’s all so very, very frustrating.

Enough ranting. I’m working on getting all the caps I already have uploaded again, and then I guess it’s time to move on and add some new stuff. Well, I’m back, Yes I’m back, Well I’m back in black…

All shiny and new

The new gallery isn’t online yet, as I still need to create the layout, but the download pages where you can download the zipped up screencaps from MegaUpload are live now.

And with that I’m now officially opening this site for business.

Endings and Beginnings

After a seemingly never ending chain of problems with my old host – among other things they pretty much have been fucking over a number of their users for over half a year now – I decided it was time for a change.

As you can see, there’s not much here yet and the site is still heavily under construction. But, while I’ll be posting anything new to this site from now on, the old one still exists, to be found here.

I hope that this one will soon be up and running, too.
